Sweetwater Harvest Kitchen will be at the SOUPER BOWL!
What is Souper Bowl?
Come join us for The Food Depot’s signature event- The Souper Bowl XXVIII! For 28 years, The Food Depot has invited the community to join us for this friendly soup competition between 25+ local chefs, who aim to win the hearts and stomachs of attendees by earning the most votes, either in their category or for the coveted distinction of “Best Soup in Santa Fe.” All proceeds from this event go to support The Food Depot’s food security work in Northern New Mexico.
- Doors open for the 2024 Souper Bowl at 10:30 AM. Enjoy the “Lobby Soup Showdown” Competition before the Souper Bowl begins or buy merch.
- Ballroom doors open for the VIP hour at 11:00. VIP Hour runs from 11:00 to 12:00.
- General Admission doors open from 12:00 to 2:00. Voting ends at 2:00 and winners are announced at 2:30.
- The Souper Bowl is a family friendly event. Children under 12 years old are free to attend.
In Santa Fe, Sweetwater Harvest Kitchen was ahead of its time on both fronts. When Soma Franks opened the restaurant in 2012 with her friend Fiona Wong, they aspired to create a café around clean and healthy eating, not jump on any burgeoning trend. Their early menu denoted all the different realms each dish inhabited: gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free, and so on. More than a decade later, Sweetwater is completely gluten-free and frequently recommended to those with celiac sensitivities who cannot dine where flours are used in any capacity. One bite of the chocolate pie—a go-to dessert for frequent diners—has convinced me that in some cases, no one will ever miss the dairy or gluten.
